Sealed Vs. Unsealed Asphalt

Untreated asphalt will deteriorate rapidly. The asphalt binder that holds the pavement together begins to oxidize and weather soon after installation. Moisture penetrates the asphalt causing further damage and deterioration of your pavement. The Asphalt Institute states that in as little as 5 years you can loose up to half the thickness of your pavement under the right conditions if pavement is not sealed.

Back to Black Driveways pavement sealer replenishes the binder that is lost through the weather and aging process. Our sealer provides the maximum protection against environmental distress, and restores the original color to your asphalt which greatly enhances the overall appearance of your property.
